In need of a scholarship?
To pursue our mission of spreading Texas-Style Fiddling, current members are welcome to apply for a scholarship to a fiddle/guitar workshop, camp, or lessons that are furthering the education of Texas-Style fiddling or related musical styles.
- You may only apply for upcoming events.
-Applicants who haven't already received a TOTFA Scholarship in the current calendar year will be prioritized.
- Your application will be reviewed and you may or may not be awarded a full or partial scholarship, of which you will be notified via email.

In the Texas-Style tradition, there are 3 main kinds of tunes: Breakdowns, Waltzes, and Choice Tunes.
The best way they can be defined is by their structure. Breakdowns are comprised of (usually two) 8 measure parts. Waltzes are in 3/4 time. Choices are tunes that don't fit in the Breakdown or Waltz categories. They may be Rags, Polkas, Swing tunes, or something else.
